RYUICHI FUJISAWA PROFILE
After working as a freelance designer for haute couture brands such as Yves Saint Laurent, Givenchy, Chanel, Nina Ricci and Lanvin,
Fujisawa has worked as an assistant to Jean Louis Scherrer.
Fujisawa returned from Paris in 1980. After working as Coordinator and PR Communications Director for Lanvin Japan, he became fashion producer to various European luxury brands. Upon his return, he also became committed to Japanese culture and aesthetics through traditional tea ceremony and calligraphy. His events involving spacial presentations that incorporate “wa” (Japanese spirit) have garnered great reviews.
Fujisawa seriously started his activities in sumie art from 2006 and has held sumie live performances at various events.
Solo exhibition of Fujisawa’s Sumie art were held in Tokyo and Kanazawa in the autumn of 2016.
Solo exhibition in the gallery of Palais Loyal in Paris, France in the autumn of 2017.
Solo exhibition for same works of exhibition in Paris at Shu champagne bar & art gallery in Roppongi, Tokyo Japan from November 2018 to January 2018.
